For Feral Cats.

What is A Feral Cat??

A feral cat, lives a solitary life, amongst it’s own colony. They are truly wild, hunt for their own food, and are mostly never seen, because of their in-built distrust of humans.

Here on the Maltese Islands, there are few truly feral cats. But what are referred to as feral, are mostly untamed, free roaming cats.

Because they are neither Spayed or Neutered, they cause a problem with human neighbours. The male cat’s tend to fight over the females, mostly at night, with a lot of yowling, and whining. Often they damage one another, and the cuts and bites turn septic, and often leads to the cat going off to die, in considerable pain, due to blood poisoning.

Statistics show, that up to 80% of cats, run over by cars, are unaltered males. Male feral cats, have a very odorous urine, which upsets humans, when the unaltered male, marks his territory, around their property.

The indiscriminate breeding, not only increases the feral population, but often the female is just a kitten herself. And these often die, along with their kittens, trying to give birth, with her un-developed young body. Feral females start mating as early as six months.

Spaying a female, before her first heat, also protects her from the risks inherent in any pregnancy, along with the possible problems of uterine, ovarian, and mammary cancers.

In Short A Spayed Feral Female Lives A
Much Happier, And Healthy Life.
